The test is anonymous, rapid and free. It just takes 10 minutes for your results to be announced in a safe and discreet environment, while you get to be informed about safer sexual practices. The Cy Checkpoint is a CBVCT Centre (Community Based Voluntary Counselling and Testing Centre), where trained volunteers offer peer-to-peer testing and counselling, from and for the community. The test uses finger blood, and reacts to antibodies of the HIV virus with 99,7% sensitivity, covering all your life, apart from the last 3 months. The test we use was selected following the best practices from other checkpoints around Europe.

Combination Prevention
Free Condoms & Lubricants
We disseminate condoms and lubricants on a nationwide scale, to population groups that do not have easy access to methods of prevention and protection against HIV infection and other STIs, in accordance with best practices. We distribute approximately 10,000 condoms & lubricants per year.
PEP: Post Exposure Prophylaxis
We offer information on how to effectively access PEP, via all our communication channels: telephone, social media, flyers.
PrEP: Pre Exposure Prophylaxis
We offer information on the proper use of PrEP, through our new info-service Cy PrEP-point, as well as through our communication channels (telephone, social media, flyers, trainings, media interventions, conferences etc.).
Testing as Prevention: Cy Checkpoint
Testing as Prevention for HIV and other STIs, via community-based and led services offered by the "Cy Checkpoint”. Our Information and Testing Centre offers free, anonymous and rapid tests throughout the Republic of Cyprus, in a safe and non-judgemental environment. The service is designed and operates on the basis of best practices proposed by the ECDC, applied throughout Europe. The Cy Checkpoint is a member of COBATEST, a European Network of Community Centres following the CBVCT model (Community-Based Voluntary Counselling and Testing).
